Day 4 Germany

Today Niklas took us to visit a Cathedral Chruch in Cologne. Here is some background:

The Cologne Cathedral (German: Kölner Dom, official name Hohe Domkirche St. Peter und Maria) is one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany and has been Cologne's most famous landmark since its completion in the late 19th century. The cathedral is under the administration of the Roman Catholic Church (but actually belongs to itself) and is the seat of the Archbishop of Cologne. Cologne Cathedral is the church with the largest facade (the west or main facade with the twin towers) and remains the second-tallest Gothic structure in the world; only the steeple of the Ulm Münster is higher.
The first picture is of the two tower of the church. The chruch was so large that it did not fit in my picture. So you are only seeing about half of the chruch.

The second picture is Greg, Eric, and myself after we climbed to the top of the tower (the one on the right). We went up 513 steps to reach the top.
The last picture is the view from the top of the tower.
